Creek and Wells, Blended

Whole house water filtration in Frisco, CO is worth thinking through because the Town of Frisco draws from more than one kind of source. The Town's 2026 Drinking Water Quality Report lists North Ten Mile Creek as a surface water intake alongside five groundwater wells, one of them an infiltration well fed by Ten Mile Creek, all in Summit County. Creek water and well water can differ in minerals and taste, and the water reaching a given home is some blend of the two. Our team travels from Grand Junction to Frisco to run a free water test at your tap. Call (970) 773-6439 to set it up.

The Town's latest numbers are reassuring, and we'd rather show you those than scare you. In 2025 sampling, total trihalomethanes averaged 18.7 ppb against an 80 ppb limit, lead at the 90th percentile was 4 ppb against a 15 ppb action level, and sodium was 3.4 ppm. Smart Living Water holds a 4.9 rating across 76 Google reviews and is a member of the Western Colorado Home Builders Association. The test at your sink is what tells you whether your house needs anything at all.

What Frisco's Water Report Shows

Low results across the board. Here's what they cover and what they don't.

Disinfection and Byproducts

Frisco disinfects with chlorine. In 2025, total trihalomethanes averaged 18.7 ppb (individual samples from 2.8 to 36.08) and haloacetic acids averaged 14.34 ppb, both well within their limits. A carbon filter takes out the chlorine taste and lowers byproducts further if you'd like.

Lead and Copper

Of 22 household taps sampled in 2025, none were above the action level. Lead results ranged from zero to 6 ppb and copper's 90th percentile was 0.19 ppm. Results like these depend on each building's plumbing, which is why we test yours.

Minerals at the Source

Barium measured 0.04 ppm against a limit of 2, nitrate averaged 0.27 ppm against 10, and manganese was not detected in its last sampling. Combined radium was 1.2 pCi/L in 2023, under the limit of 5.

What the Report Leaves Out

The report doesn't list a hardness figure. We measure hardness, dissolved solids and pH at your tap, so any softener talk is based on your number.

What We Install

Systems We Install in Frisco

Chosen from your results, not from a package list.

Whole House Filtration

Whole house water filtration removes chlorine and sediment and reduces byproducts for every faucet and shower, regardless of which source is feeding your line.

Drinking Water Filtration

For condos or anyone mainly focused on drinking water, filtration at the kitchen tap is a smaller, targeted step.

Water Softener Installation

Only if your test shows hardness worth treating. A water softener sized to your result protects your water heater and fixtures from scale.

HydraShield Elite

The HydraShield Elite is our most complete saltless whole-home system, designed to be maintenance-free under normal use.

What Frisco Homeowners Should Know

Frisco's report includes a few things worth knowing about. The Town keeps a service line inventory, as state and federal rules now require, and you can ask the Town for a copy or for the material of your own service line. If your line is old or unknown, that's a good reason to look at lead at your tap specifically. The report's source water assessment, a screening-level list of what could affect the watershed, names existing and abandoned mine sites, septic systems, residential areas and road miles, among others. The report says plainly that a potential source doesn't mean contamination has happened. It's context, and your test is the fact. If you're outside the Town's system on a private well, the Town's numbers don't describe your water at all. Wells deserve their own look at hardness, iron, nitrate and bacteria indicators, and a free water test is a sensible place to start.

Frequently asked questions

Where does Frisco's water come from?
The Town of Frisco's 2026 report lists North Ten Mile Creek as a surface water intake plus five groundwater wells, including one that draws infiltration water from Ten Mile Creek. The groundwater sources are in Summit County near the Town's system.
Is Frisco tap water safe?
The Town's 2025 results for disinfection byproducts, lead, copper, nitrate and radium are all within their limits. What the report can't tell you is what your own building's plumbing adds, which is what our free test checks.
Do I need a water softener in Frisco?
The Town's report doesn't list hardness, and with both creek and well sources the answer can vary. We measure hardness at your tap and only recommend softening if the number supports it.
How do I find out what my service line is made of?
The Town keeps a service line inventory and its report invites customers to ask for a copy or about their own line. Combine that with a tap test and you'll know where you stand.
Do you come to Frisco?
Yes. Frisco is a regular drive for our Grand Junction team, for the free test and for installs. Call (970) 773-6439 to get on the schedule.
